A few months ago, I was in the Netherlands visiting Rotterdam and Amsterdam. My wife is from Germany by way of Kazakhstan, so we spend a lot of time in the city of Cologne, Germany. Boudoir photographers such as Christa Meola and The Boudoir Divas typically host workshops in Europe, so perhaps Capital we'll host an event in Europe in the future. When my wife married me, she stated we'd have to live in Europe in the future to give her the opportunity to be near her family, so in the future there will definitely be a subsidy of Capital Boudoir in Europe!

Washington D.C. has a lot of culture like Europe which makes it a great location for boudoir photography! There is so much history and culture, in The D.C. area, which is hard to imitate! I actually have a love and hate relationship with the metropolitan area, and think we could use assistance with alleviating traffic! We originally had a studio in Chantilly, Va, but the traffic across I-66 was so horrible we decided to use boutique hotels and a studio co-op near the city! In Netherlands I loved how people ride their bikes, not only were people extremely fit, but I didn't see traffic jams! Mike and I in fact do a lot of bike riding(motorcycles)!

I'd never been to Rotterdam, so I decided to visit. Rotterdam is very modern and known for it's architecture, the Dutch had to rebuild the city from rubble after World War 2. While roaming the streets of Rotterdam, I came across a boutique pin-up shop named " Very Cherry ," which I thought interesting, especially since it's pin-up and boudoir photography are related. I had a limited conversation with the shop owner, since my Dutch language skills are non-existent and took a flier since they had great items and offer international shipping at a reasonable rate. Very Cherry has been in business since 2004 and has been featured in fashion magazines such as Elle! After looking around and talking with the owner, I saw they offered lots of vintage items, and 50's and 60's style clothing, lingerie, shoes, and accessories from designers such as Edith & Ella, Pinup couture, Bettie Page Clothing. Even more impressive, the shop owner designs and makes her own items!

I hope all of you reading this blog have the opportunity to go abroad, and if you happen to be in Rotterdam visit,  Very Cherry !
