"I decided I wanted to give my fiancé boudoir photos of me as a wedding gift. In order to accomplish this I needed to do two things (1) courage to actually do it, and (2) the right studio to execute the photo shoot. I'm so happy to say that I picked Mike with Capital Boudoir and my pictures came out better than I ever expected. When I walked in to the studio I was very nervous, but Mike's laid back, comedic attitude immediately put me at ease (a glass of champagne didn't hurt either). I was shocked at how many poses and outfits we were able to fit in an hour session. I had done some research before hand and brought some pictures I liked from Maxim magazine. Mike was totally game to try to recreate some of my favorite pictures. When all was said and done, I am extremely happy with my whole experience and the end result. "I was nervous about my photo session, as I have never done a boudoir photo shoot before. But my experience was completely relaxing and positive. Mike was my photographer and he made me feel very comfortable during the photo shoot: we talked about music, family, California. Rather than being half dressed in a studio, I felt more like I was sitting and catching up with an old friend.
He went above and beyond to make me feel satisfied as a customer. He was quick to answer any and all of my questions via e-mail. Even though I was running late for my appointment, I never felt rushed. I was even capricious with my photo choices, and he was very patient and accommodating. I was completely nervous about the idea, but Mike was very professional and did a great job making me laugh and help me feel comfortable. I also liked that Mike gave suggestions on poses that would photograph in a faltering way. Booking my session was easy, the website was very helpful, location was easy to get to, I was offered wine as well as water, the space was clean and tidy, and even though I did my own makeup and brought everything I needed; it was nice to see they offer a makeup artist as well as an array of shoes, props, etc. I love that I was able to preview my pictures and delete the ones I really didn't like before I left. A boudoir photo shoot had been in the back of my mind for several years. When I finally worked up the nerve to do it, I found a Bloomspot deal for Capital Boudoir, thinking I would give the photos to my husband as an anniversary gift. As (what I would consider to be) an older client, I was really nervous. Nerves were calmed as soon as I arrived. Amber, my MUA, was fabulous. Both she and John were very reassuring. When I first saw the job Amber had done on my hair and makeup, all I could say was "Wow!" John was able to pose me in ways that were extremely flattering for my body. For 2 hours, this 40 year old married, mother of two was not tired and harried. I was beautiful and sexy! And I have stunning photographs to prove it! I keep looking back at them and saying in an amazed voice, "That is me!" As I have told my best friends, I would do it again in a heartbeat! My photos turned out beautifully - better than I ever thought they would be. They started out as an anniversary gift for my husband, but the whole experience turned out to be a great gift for me. Everything was perfect. I couldn't imagine a better experience. Maybe next time I will book a longer session because I wasn't ready to stop. Everything about my session from start to finish was perfect! As soon as I found the website I knew I had found the right place. When I walked in the door the day of the shoot, my comfort level never changed. John made it a fun environment and really helped me get into the mood to take some great photos! I liked that he allowed me to see my pictures afterwards. Cool spot but next time I would try a different studio or boutique hotel when they have those specials.

I was very pleased with my session. My photographer, John, was a delight to work with. He was personable, professional, and very prompt!
I am very confident and I love my body, so I was never nervous or embarassed. But I know that he will make even the most nervous person feel quite comfortable. I enjoyed working with John, and I look forward to working with him again....My photo session was so much fun! I had been planning to do this for quite some time, but never looked into it enough to seek a professional photographer. This year I will be hitting a milestone birthday and decided that this would be the perfect time in my life to have some shots taken of myself. The setting was nice, The location of the studio is near the beautiful in Old Town, Alexandria, waterfront, and John is an awesome photographer. I know I made the right choice!

I was originally worried that I would feel uncomfortable infront of a photographer that I did not know, let alone male photographers, but I seemed to jump right in and did not hesitate during the shoot. This would be the selling point on letting others (especially female) know about the opportunity with Capital Boudoir. I had a great time! I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful and special opportunity. I consider myself confident, but "old-school" modest or "traditional". I did not think that I would be comfortable wearing only lingerie for the boudoir photo shoot. However, I cannot begun to say enough great things to explain how exceptional John was to work with! He was very patient and instantly made me feel very relaxed about every aspect of the shoot. Not only did time fly by, but everything felt very natural and easy.
I just received by photos from the session. They are without a doubt, absolutely stunning and breathtaking! As a newlywed present, I want to surprise my husband with a present. I wanted to thank you again for the photos you took last weekend. I got the little black book in the mail this week and gave it to my boyfriend last night. I completely under estimated what his response would be. He didn't just like or love the photos...he was overwhelmed by them. There were actually tears in his eyes as he looked through the photos I'd selected. He commented that the photos were expertly taken and that you really captured who I am not only as a person, but how he sees me. I could not have asked for a better reaction.
I've told a few friends that they should schedule a session with you - whether or not they are in a relationship - because of how great the session made me feel. I felt sexy, confident, and proud of myself the whole day.
After seeing all of the proofs online, my boyfriend said he even wanted to have a second album printed with other photos he loved and has even said I should book a session with you once a year!

I had my boudoir photo shoot a few weeks ago and had a great time! "I had a great experience at WoodBurn Photography.
The booking process was simple; I purchased the Living Social Deal for the Boudoir Session and immediately called to make an appointment. It was quick and easy and they were flexible with my schedule.
When I arrived at the studio, I was nervous- I had never done a boudoir photo session before. They offered me champagne, soda or water and asked me what type of music would make me feel the most comfortable. Very friendly, conversational and both John and Mike made me laugh which helped me relax, too!
After the photo shoot was up and I went home, it took less than a day for Mike to e-mail me my photos to choose my favorites... they were very efficient at getting them to me as well as making my book ready to go... I had a question about the book, and Mike answered my questions and changed the photo that I wanted changed without any hesitation. They really made sure I loved the photos and the layout of my photo book before they sent it to get processed.
The photos were amazing- Like I said, it was my first session, and I didn't know I had the courage to do what I did. Mike and John were good at finding the right angles and took plenty of pictures to be sure there was at least one good one in the group-- at times, both were taking pictures in order to get different view points, too.
